Madhouse Games on Main Street, located under the offices of Glidden tax service, opened for business recently. “We toyed with the idea of calling the store ‘Dungeon something’ since we’re downstairs here, but with Dr. Mike’s next door we settled on sticking with the Madness theme,” said store coowner Bob Enman.
Local entrepreneurs, Bob and son, Kyle Enman, operate Enman and Dragan Field Disc golf and decided that a game store was a perfect fit for downtown Lisbon. It seemed like a great business idea and it allows them to live their passion. “I go way back with table-top role playing games,” said the elder Enman. “I was playing Dungeons & Dragons before it was officially called that.” But the store is about more than just old school role playing.
“We’ve got a little something for any gamer. We do Friday Night Magic events and have all the cards you need to build a great deck. Soon we’ll be carrying Pokemon for younger gamers like my nephew Dragan and, of course, miniatures and a few comics,” said Kyle.
Starting a new business is a challenge, said Bob Enman, and “I’ve been running small businesses for the last 20 years and the hardest part is always letting people know what you’re doing. People have been trickling in but we love to see more folks stop in and share their favorite game.”
