Mid Coast Hospital’s Center for Weight & Lifestyle Change will host the first in a series of information sessions that will provide an overview of its weight loss program.

The first session will be held today from 2 to 3 p.m. and the second on Thursday, Aug. 2, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the conference room adjacent to the café at Mid Coast Hospital, 123 Medical Center Drive.

The hospital’s Center for Weight & Lifestyle Change is designed to help individuals create a foundation for longterm weight loss and overall better health.

“Diets by themselves do not ensure long lasting change,” a release states. “This program is set apart due to the multidisciplinary approach that covers the nutritional, emotional, and physical issues contributing to obesity.”

A 12-week class led at the center includes nutrition guidance, individual and group behavioral health sessions, and exercise coaching.

The information sessions will allow those looking for a long-term weight loss solution to learn more about the program prior to enrollment in the next 12-week class that begins Sept. 13.

“The sessions will include a program overview, free Body Mass Index (BMI) analysis, and open discussion with specialty staff members that will help determine whether this program is right for you,” the release states.
