Norma dedicated many years as a nurse at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. In her later years, she devoted much spirit to the Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, and Going It Alone Club of Leisure World, as well as The Popham Chapel Circle. She was a member of the Interfaith Chapel of Leisure World and Grace Catholic Church of Leisure World, plus the Popham Chapel.
Norma will be remembered for her spunky and lively personality. She leaves much love and memories to one brother, Robert Brewer of North Carolina; one son, Lenny Flaherty of Maryland; two daughters and their spouses, Terry Flaherty and Steve Tanguay of Hot Springs, Virginia, Kathy Flaherty and Kevin Litkowski of Severna Park, Maryland; four grandchildren, Sage, Finn, Ben and Daniel; nine nephews and nieces and many, many friends. She is predeceased by two sisters, Patricia Williams and Phyllis Cook, and one brother, Donald Brewer.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at the Interfaith Chapel of Leisure World, Maryland in mid-September.
Memorial donations may be sent to Sol Goldman Pancreatic Research Fund at Johns Hopkins Hospital or Casey House Montgomery Hospice.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
