LEWISTON — “Fueling for The Dempsey Challenge!” is the topic of an informational session set for Aug. 13 at Central Maine Medical Center’s Chairmen’s Room A on the lower level of the 12 High St. medical office building, located next to CMMC.
The presentation will begin at 5 p.m. and last about 30 minutes.
Certified athletic trainer Greg Jancaitis from Central Maine Sports Medicine will discuss strategies for eating and hydrating for longer cycling events.
According to a news release, Jancaitis is a USA Cycling certified cycling coach whose clients range from racers looking to take their training to the next level to those getting into cycling for the first time. He is an avid bicycle commuter and competes in ultra-endurance mountain bike races.
The free program may be of particular interest to those participating in The Dempsey Challenge in October.
For more information, call Greg Jancaitis at 795-8465 or email jancaigr@cmhc.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
