TOPSHAM — Clifton H. Mellen, of Topsham, passed away on August 13, 2012.

Fondly known as ‘Butch’ he was born in Hackensack NJ, the son of Clifton and Rose Mellen. He attended schools in Hillsdale, NJ and served in the US Navy. He retired as a custodian at Brunswick High School in 2006. He was a past member of the American Legion and Jaycees. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, wood working and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Martha, Butch is survived by his son David and his wife Katie of Warren MA , his Daughter, Angela L. Whealton and her husband Dan of Bonaire, GA, his grandchildren, Danielle and Stephen Mellen of Warren, MA and Sean and Ian Whealton of Bonaire, GA, His sister Carolyn Masson of Ramsey, NJ, his brother Ronald and his wife Pat of Oakland

NJ.

He was predeceased by 2 brothers, George and William, both of

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at

St John The Baptist

Church 39 Pleasant St Brunswick ME at 11 AM. A Celebration of Life and Refreshments will follow at Sky-Hy Conference and Renewal Center 32 Sky-Hy Drive Topsham at 1PM. Interment will be a later date at Maine Veterans’ Cemetery in Augusta. In lieu of flowers, Donations in Butch’s memory may be made to the ALS foundation,10 Ferry St #309, Concord NH 03301.
