GORHAM — The University of Southern Maine women’s tennis team (3-8) dropped its second straight match to Colby-Sawyer College (6-5) in a non-conference game on Wednesday, 8-1.
Ashlyn Ramsey and Sam White were the stand outs for Colby-Sawyer, combining for a win at number one doubles and then posting straight-set wins in single play.
Ramsey and White’s doubles victory came over former Mt. Ararat stand out and USM Huskie Sarah Hill and her partner Liz Martin.
The Huskies only point came in the number five singles match when sophomore Katie Quinn held on in a super tiebreaker over Colby- Sawyer’s Marissa Ulmer, 6-4, 4-6 (15-13).
USM returns to the courts this weekend for a pair of home matches against Salem State University in a Little East Conference match on Saturday (1 p.m.), and Colby College for a nonconference match on Sunday (12 p.m.).
