PORTLAND (AP) — A Maine government survey says the average statewide cash price for heating oil dropped another 3 cents in the past week.
The Governor’s Energy Office says the average price according to the Nov. 17 survey was $3.06. The average kerosene price of $3.62 was down 3 cents from the previous week. Propane prices rose one cent to $2.83. Heating oil averaged $3.53 per gallon a year ago at this time, while kerosene dropped 32 cents in that time and propane rose 7 cents.
The highest price for heating oil was again found in central Maine, where prices topped out at $3.40. The lowest prices were in southwestern and western Maine, where the low mark was $2.70.
