BATH — The Salvation Army is accepting applications for people who are looking for some help for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
People who qualify for help will received Thanksgiving and Christmas meal baskets, as well as presents for their children.
Those wishing to apply must provide information detailing their income and expenses, and must present identification for all members of the household. Participants also are asked to provide their children’s clothing size and wish lists.
Accepted forms of identification are Social Security cards, MaineCare cards and driver’s license/state ID. Accepted forms of income documentation are bank statements, social security letter, 30 days worth of pay stubs, and DHHS review letters and/or printouts of forms for TANF or Food Stamps. Accepted expenses documentation are bills or reciepts for rent/mortgage, utility bills, car insurance, car payments, phone, cable and credit cards.
The Salvation Army will be taking applications through Dec. 4; the office — located at 25 Congress Ave. in Bath — is open from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Applications can be picked up and dropped off during those times.
