NEWTON, Mass. — St. Joseph’s College opened Great Northeast Athletic Conference play with a resounding 72-36 victory over Lasell College on Thursday.
The Monks improved to 4- 1, 1-0 GNAC.
St. Joseph’s opened the game with a 21-point run, and held a 42-9 halftime lead.
Sophomore guard Julia Champagne of Brunswick led the Monks with a double-double, registering 13 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Teammate Emily Benway added 10 points and 10 boards.
