Academy women’s basketball (1-4, 0-2) fell to Husson University (2-2, 2-0), 68-61 on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference play inside of Smith Gymnasium.
Former Mt. Ararat standout Kristi Willey had 10 points, eight rebounds and an assist for the Mariners in the loss.
Willey finished off an 8-0 MMA run in the first half with a 3-pointer for an 8-3 lead.
Husson scored eight straight points in the second half for a 34-25 edge and held off several Mariners bids to get closer down the stretch.
