A Bowdoinham man was issued a summons for cultivating marijuana late Monday morning at his home on Billington Lane where the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department seized 17 marijuana plants.

Chief Deputy Brett Strout said Richard Crooker, 56, of 17 Billington Lane, was charged with cultivating marijuana stemming from an ongoing investigation. The plants seized by the department, which Strout said were about three feet tall in size, were located inside and outside the home. Cpl. Aaron Skolfield is investigating the case and Crooker was given a West Bath District Court date of Oct. 9.
