LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon High School field hockey team defeated Oak Hill for the second time this season, but it certainly wasn’t easy this time around.
The improved Raiders kept the Greyhounds off the board for nearly 51 minutes of Mountain Valley Conference action, but Lisbon found a way, getting a Hanna Jordan goal with 9:03 remaining for a 1-0 victory.
“Oak Hill played very well, and on our end we just couldn’t finish,” said Lisbon (8-0) coach Julie Wescott, whose squad visits Boothbay on Friday. “You could see the improvement. Their coach has done a great job.
“To show how much we dominated, we held a 24-3 shot advantage, but we have to finish.”
Lisbon finished with a 14-5 edge in penalty corners.
Jordan finished off a pass from Sarah Craig for the game’s only goal, beating Oak Hill goaltender Abby Fuller (16 saves).
Lisbon goaltender Stevie Charest had three saves for the shutout, and Greyhound defender Bailey Madore had a solid game.
