BRUNSWICK — All day Thursday, Cold Stone Creamery stores will donate $1 from the sale of any Love It or Gotta Have It size ice cream, yogurt or sorbet to the Make- A-Wish Foundation.
From 6 to 7 p.m., the Brunswick Cold Stone will feature a celebrity scooper, 6- year-old wish child Kiara Pacheco of Brunswick. Kiara lives with aplastic anemia. Her wish is to meet professional surfer Bethany Hamilton who lost her left arm in a shark attack and ultimately overcame the injury to return to professional surfing.
The local shop is located at 10 Gurnet Road, Brunswick.
Since 2002, Cold Stone has raised more than $4 million for Make-A-Wish. This month has been Make-A-Wish month and will culminate in Thursday’s 11th annual World’s Largest Ice Cream Social.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
