BOOTHBAY HARBOR — The 2013 Season at the Opera House includes performances by Dougie MacLean and John Gorka, Francine Reed and Livingston Taylor and dozens of others, and it all opens with a night of music and unpredictable fun by The Boneheads on Saturday, Jan. 26.
For more than 20 years, The Boneheads have been playing their brand of music to audiences throughout Maine and the northeast, as well as throughout the country. They have shared the stage and toured with the likes of Roseanne Cash, The Band, Bo Didley and The Subdudes, and are often compared to Van Morrison, Little Feat, NRBQ, The Band and their touring partners The Subdudes. Band members include Bob Colwell, Steve Jones, Scott Elliot and Dick Hollis.
Opening for The Boneheads will be Boothbay favorites, The Holy Mackerels with Mark Stover, Arthur Webster, Paul D’Alessio and friends. Boneheads band member Steve Jones also plays with the Mackerels.
The music starts at 8 p.m., doors for seating open at 7:30 p.m. and the historic upstairs bar opens at 7 p.m. for early arrivals.
Tickets are $10 and available by calling the box office at 633-5159 or visiting the Opera House at 86 Townsend Ave., Tuesday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
