PORTLAND — The Portland Ballet is presenting its production of “Boy Meets Girl: Portland Ballet Dances the American Songbook,” with performances scheduled for 8 p.m. today and for 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Portland Ballet Studio Theater on Forest Avenue in Portland. The ballet celebrates the artistry of some of the country’s most beloved crooners and composers in a lighthearted and romantic Valentine’s Day dance celebration.
Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and songs such as “I’ve Got You Under my Skin,” “The Lady is a Tramp” and “Mambo Italiano” create the scene for the company’s performance. Set in a neighborhood Italian restaurant, this is a night ready for love, loss and lots of fun. The performance on Saturday, Feb. 14 includes a post- show Wine, Chocolate, and Cheese reception catered by Aurora Provisions.
Tickets are between $25 and $40 and are available at portlandballet.org. For more information about Portland Ballet Company, its school and programs, visit www.portlandballet.org or call 772- 9671.
