AUGUSTA — The board of directors of the Maine Development Foundation (MDF) recently announced that Edmund Cervone has been appointed president and CEO of the organization.
The announcement concludes a nationwide search.
MDF supports economic, work force, leadership and community development across the state.
“We are excited to continue the growth of MDF leadership and look forward to working with Ed in shaping the future of the organization as it continues its integral role in examining the Maine economy,” said Aldo Servello, MDF’s chairman of the board.
Prior to being appointed to the role, Cervone served as MDF interim president since June 2012. He joined MDF as the senior program director and operations officer in 2007.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
