EDGECOMB — Beginning on Thursday, Feb. 28, at 5:30 p.m., Edgecomb Congregational Church, UCC, will be holding a Lenten soup and scripture Bible study focusing on the last day of Jesus’ life.

With the aid of the best-selling book and DVD, “24 Hours that Changed the World,” pastor and author Adam Hamilton will help local worshipers to relive the one-day in history that changed everything.

Drawing on insights from history, archaeology, geography and the Bible, Hamilton will take participants to the Holy Land and provide a deeper understanding of the most amazing day in history. “We will visit the sites where the earth-shaking events took place, and we will walk where Jesus walked along the road that led to the pain and triumph of the cross,” states a release.

Filmed on location, the DVD includes seven sessions averaging 10 minutes each. The sessions, titled “The Last Supper”; “The Garden of Gethsemane”; “Condemned by the Righteous”; “Jesus, Barabbas and Pilate”; “The Torture and Humiliation of a King”; “The Crucifixion”; and “Christ the Victor.”

The study will be held on Thursdays, Feb. 28 through March 21 in the lower level of the church, located at 15 Cross Point Road. Each session will begin at 5:30 p.m. by sharing a meal of soup and bread together.
