A 20-year-old woman was taken to a Brunswick hospital with non-life-threatening injuries shortly before noon today after losing control of her car in a snowdrift on Post Road.
The crash was reported at 11:39 a.m.
Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Cpl. Aaron Skolfield said a 20-year-old woman was traveling south on Post Road/Route 138 in a 2008 Mercury Milan when she lost control of her vehicle on a corner due to a snow drift that had blown into the road.
The car skidded out of control and hit a tree sideways on the opposite side of the road, Skolfield said.
The front passenger-side door hit the tree. The impact caused the passenger-side air bag to deploy.
The driver was the sole occupant and was transported by ambulance to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
Skolfield said the car was totaled. The driver was not charged but was “traveling a little too fast for the road conditions,” he said.
