PORTLAND — Portland Symphony Orchestra presents its second annual Halloween themed “Discovery” concert on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Merrill Auditorium. Discovery Concerts are an hour long and engage the audience in a fun and educational journey with the full orchestra.
The Trick-or Treat Symphony is a Halloween experience filled with symphonic thrills and chills for the whole family, a news release said. Maestro Robert Moody leads the ghouls and goblins of the PSO in some of the greatest “spooktacular” music ever written for orchestra.
Dancers from Portland Ballet will be on hand to shake a spooky groove.
Guests are encouraged to dress in costume and arrive early for pre-show festivities starting at 1 p.m. Highlights include a costume contest, games, a chance to learn the zombie dance moves of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” and a hands-on instrument petting zoo.
Tickets are $10 and available through PortTIX.com, by phone at 842-0800 or at the box office at 20 Myrtle St. Box office hours are noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. All ticket prices include $2 handling fee and $2 Merrill Restoration fee.
