Everett “Tink” Mitchell is the declared winner of the three-way race to represent Ward 7 on the City Council. The city’s former fire chief took 232 votes on Election Day; Cal Stilphen, who had requested the recount, finished six votes behind, with 226 votes; and Larry Scott took 216. The winner will be sworn in Dec. 5 to fill the final year of a three-year term left by the death of Ruthe Pagurko. A final tally was unavailable at press time.
