BRUNSWICK — Guest organist Sean Fleming, organist at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Newcastle, will present a recital on the new organ at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Brunswick.
Fleming is well known in the Mid-coast area as musical director and recitalist. He will play new and old organ music that demonstrates the wide range of sounds and varieties that the new instrument offers, and include music to accompany singing by the audience.
The recital is 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18.
The public is warmly invited to attend and bring family, friends and neighbors. St. Paul’s is proud of its distinctive organ’s important contribution to its worship services and to the larger community as well as to the musical life of Brunswick.
The new organ was built by the Faucher Organ Company of Biddeford as a hybrid with pipes for the foundation tones and a digital electronic organ providing flexibility, scope, and support.
The dedication of the organ occurred in conjunction with completion of second floor classrooms and the renovation of the chancel in St. Paul’s on November 14th by the Right Rev. Stephen T. Lane, Bishop of the Diocese of Maine.
