WORCESTER, Mass. — Senior Dan Suarez and junior Jon Deupree each had two wins by fall to lead the University of Southern Maine Huskies wrestling at Worcester Polytechnic Institute tri-meet with Norwich University.
The Huskies earned a decisive 49-6 win over Norwich in its first dual meet of the season and fell in a hard-fought 24-21 loss to WPI. WPI defeated Norwich 34-21.
Logan Russell of Bath pinned Norwich’s Alex Kwmuntis in 2:14 at 157 pounds, but lost to WPI’s Andrew Tanner 3-0.
Southern Maine is scheduled to return to action on Dec. 1 when it hosts its annual Ted Reese Invitational (10 a.m.).
