HILTON HEAD, S.C. — The Thomas College men’s tennis rebounded with their first victory of the 2017 season, defeating Wisconsin Lutheran College, 8-1, on Sunday afternoon at Hilton Head High School. The Terriers moved to an even .500 record in the early season at 1-1 while the Warriors remained winless at 0-11.
Thomas began the day with a clean sweep in doubles play as Zachary Disch and Ryan Chasse defeated Derek Sallmann and Jon Wordell, 8-5, on the No. 1 line. In number two doubles, former Brunswick High School player Ross Munn and Kaleb Payson took down Ben Wordell and Jake Stellick 8-4.
The Warriors earned their lone victory of the match as Sallmann defeated Chasse in No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-2. Munn rallied back in the No. 2 match, dropping Ben Wordell 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7).
