BRUNSWICK — Stephanie Zhang, an eighth-grader at Brunswick Junior High, is one of four students to qualify to compete in the National Math Counts Competition in Washington, D.C., May 9-12.

During the Maine State Finals, Zhang finished individually in second place after two written rounds, and finished overall in third place after the oral recitation “Countdown Round,” according to math department chairwoman Susan Weddle.
