Do you enjoy music? Interested in learning a new challenge? Ballroom and social dance lessons are a wonderful way to have fun and experience low-impact fitness.
On Tuesday evenings in May, the Basics of Ballroom will cover the basic steps, patterns and music of styles ranging from East Coast Swing and Merengue to Mambo and more. Instructor Elizabeth Hasketll is DVIDAcertified and has adapted the footwork into a curriculum better understood by beginner dancers.
Make sure to bring your favorite song to class if you’d like to dance to it. Come alone or bring a partner.
This class will start on May 7 and will continue each Tuesday in May from 7 to 8 p.m. Attendees must register in advance. The cost is $45 for People Plus members, $65 for nonmembers. Couples are $80 if both are members, or $120 for nonmembers.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
