NEWCASTLE — Tapestry Singers will be combining with the Bell Choir of Second Congregational Church for a holiday concert entitled Ring Out, Christmas Bells. There will be two performances, one on Saturday, Dec. 22, at 7:30 p.m. and one on Sunday, Dec. 23, at 2 p.m.

The Bell Choir, directed by Jane Wilmot, will begin the first and second half with interesting arrangements of traditional Christmas music and also combine with the chorus for three numbers, culminating in a rousing arrangement of “I Saw Three Ships” by Mormon Tabernacle director Mack Wilberg.

In addition, the 35-voice choral group, directed by Harold Falconer, will perform arrangements of traditional carols by David Willcocks, John Rutter, Robert De Cormier and Conrad Susa, as well as original compositions for Advent and Christmas by Orlando Gibbons, Edward Grieg, Peter Warlock and Healey Willan.

Accompanist Sean Fleming will be assisted by pianist Judy Falconer and flautists Nan White and Amelia Jenkins. Featured soloists will include Amy Lalime, John Ward, Deb Arter, Elizabeth Davis, Heather Elowe, John Fischer and William Bausch.

Tickets are $12 and may be obtained from chorus members and at the Maine Coast Book Shop and Café, or by calling 644-1174.

Children and students attend free. For information, call Rosie Bensen at 563-5842.
