Tom Butler, a veteran actor who has appeared in many Portland Stage Company productions over the years, is back this holiday season for a turn as the crusty Ebenezer Scrooge in the annual production of Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol.”

The Portland Stage production continues with performances through the afternoon of Dec. 24.

The cast includes Portland Stage regulars Bess Welden, Mark Honan, Daniel Noel and Sally Wood.

Jenny Maguire, another cast member, has extensive credits in TV and film, including “Fair Game” in theaters now.
