BRUNSWICK — Brother Mickey O’Neill McGrath, an Oblate of St. Francis de Sales and an award-winning author and artist, will deliver a free presentation at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 132 McKeen

St., on Saturday, May 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The title of his presentation is “A Journey with the Saints through Art: Meeting Familiar Soul-Friends for the First Time.”

In addition to doing illustration work for many of today’s leading Catholic publishers, Brother Mickey has written 10 books, several of which have received awards from the Catholic Press Association. He is also an accomplished painter, as his work appears in parishes across the country, a news release said.

In 2010, Brother Mickey’s painting “Christ the Teacher” was presented to Pope Benedict XVI.

Brother Mickey is a popular presenter in the U.S. and Canada, speaking about the many deep and fun connections between art and religious faith, while sharing highlights of those who have inspired Catholics.

All are invited to attend Brother Mickey’s free presentation. Attendees are welcome to bring a seat cushion and are encouraged to bring a bag lunch, though other simple refreshments will be provided.

Prints, cards and books will be available for sale.
