One important aspect of this communication is that it be a two-way street — both incoming and outgoing.
First, a huge thank you to People Plus for providing this space to TRIAD so that we may share information that can enhance a senior’s well-being, or — conversely — warn others about activity that might adversely affect seniors and their families. However, if someone has a question or concern about such activity, whom do they contact — how will we know?
If you have a question or concern about something that “just doesn’t seem or sound right” that relates to the safety and wellbeing of seniors in the community — or someone has become the victim of a scam — please contact your local law enforcement office. You may also contact the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection hotline at 626-8849.
TRIAD includes information about scams that target elders on its website so that others can be alerted and avoid becoming victims. For more more information about such activity, visit www.merrymeetingbaytriad.org or call 751-6959. Thanks!
Comments are not available on this story. Read more about why we allow commenting on some stories and not on others.
We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
