RICHMOND — Larry Barnes, a licensed Maine Master Falconer, will hold a discussion about peregrine falcons and kestrels at the Swan Island Wildlife Management Area, noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 6 on Swan Island in the Kennebec River.

The event is limited to 40 people. To register, call Swan Island Reservations at 547- 5322 and indicate your interest in the peregrine falcon program. Plan to arrive at the Swan Island Mainland ferry landing, at Routes 197 and 24, before 11 a.m. The ferry will leave promptly at 11 a.m. Return times for the ferry from the island will be 2 and 3 p.m.

The regular $8 park admission fee will be charged.

Swan Island, the Steve Powell Wildlife Management Area, is owned and maintained by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Its operation and maintenance are supported by your fees as well as revenue from the sale of hunting and fishing licenses, and federal monies under the Federal

Aid in Wildlife Restoration Program.
