BRUNSWICK — Pejepscot Historical Society will present a talk by Dana Byrd, a Fellow in art history at Bowdoin College, titled “Occupied: The Civil War-Era Plantation, 1861-1877.”

The program is 7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at Curtis Memorial Library’s Morrell Meeting Room. Admission is $3.

Byrd will examine the profound change wrought by the Civil War. She holds doctoral and bachelor of arts degrees from Yale University and earned her master of arts from the University of Delaware/Winterthur Program in early American culture. Her book manuscript, “Reconstructions: The Material Culture of the Plantation, 1861-1877,” provides the basis for her presentation. For information, call 729-6606.
