BRUNSWICK — A trio of Bowdoin College Polar Bears have been named Second Team All-NESCAC in Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference selections on Thursday.

Seniors Hannah Hirschfeld and Grace DeWald were joined by first-year Eliza Denious on the NESCAC Second Team.

Hirschfeld is enjoying her finest season, posting a career-high 49 points on 32 goals and 17 assists. She currently stands ninth in the NESCAC in scoring and has totaled 89 goals, 34 assists and 123 points in her time at Bowdoin. She was also a Second Team All-Conference choice last spring and leads the team in ground balls (29) and is tied in caused turnovers (17).

DeWald garners her first postseason accolade after another fantastic season anchoring the Bowdoin defense. In addition to being an almost-automatic clear on the defensive end for the Polar Bears, DeWald is tied with Hirschfeld with 17 caused turnovers and ranks second on the team with 19 ground balls.

Denious burst onto the scene with a 41-point campaign that included 35 goals. She also ranks among the team-best in draw controls (36) and caused turnovers (16).

Bowdoin currently stands at 12-4 and will play Amherst in the NESCAC semifinals on Saturday at Middlebury College in Vermont.
