BRUNSWICK — Several camps are slated to begin soon through the Brunswick Parks and Recreation Department.

Dragons Boys Lacrosse

This annual camp is run by Brunswick High School coach Don Glover and his players from the 2015 State Class A championship team.

The Junior Dragons Camp (for athletes entering grades 3-5 this fall) runs from July 20-23 from 9:15 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. at the high school. This camp is full contact, with participants practicing the basic fundamentals, with emphasis on throws and catches, ground-ball techniques as well as many other upper level fundamentals of lacrosse.

The cost is $40 for residents, $52 for non residents.

The Big Dragons Camp (grades 6-8) is also a full equipment camp, which runs from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the high school.

As with the Junior Dragons, participants will learn the fundamentals. The cost is $40 for residents, $52 for non residents.

Equipment needed for the camps are a helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, a stick, mouth guard and appropriate footwear.

Softball

Bowdoin College head softball coach Ryan Sullivan returns to coach this clinic at Lishness Field from July 20-24.

The five-day clinic will be held each day from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and is open to players ages 6-12 as of Oct. 15, 2015.

The cost is $35 for residents, $47 for non residents.

The clinic is designed to be both instructional and fun, with players taught the proper mechanics of hitting, fielding and base running.

Players are asked to bring their gloves.

Girls Basketball

This year’s Lady Dragons Basketball Camp will be run by Brunswick High School girls basketball coach Sam Farrell and his players from July 27-30 inside the high school gymnasium.

Players entering grades 3- 8 in the fall will learn skill development and fundamentals, along with playing fun games.

The cost for the clinic is $38 for residents, $51 for non residents.
