BAILEY ISLAND — Todd R. Thompson, of Bailey Island, passed away unexpectedly while vacationing in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on May 1, 2018.
Todd was born in Brunswick on January 28, 1964, to Kenneth and Susan Lebel Thompson.
He was a quiet reflective man who enjoyed the great outdoors. He made his living on the water lobstering, for pure enjoyment he liked to go tuna fishing and hunting. In the winter he would travel near and far to ice fish. In recent years he would take time in January to go shelling on Sanibel Island to keep the Mrs. happy.
He is predeceased by his mother Susan and lifelong father figure Joseph W. Leet.
Todd is survived by his father Kenneth of Brevard, North Carolina, and siblings Kimberly Thompson Alwine of Delray Beach, Florida, Chad Thompson of Atlanta, Georgia, Dianne Leet Gagne of Orr’s Island, as well as Ellis and Tyler Leet of Bailey Island.
He will be greatly missed and forever remain in the heart of his wife Patti Stilphen Thompson, children Alex Thompson and Ashley Barter, grandchildren Naytalia and Elijah, as well as grandmother Barbara Lebel of Bath.
There will be no services.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
