TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat seventh-grade baseball team defeated Brunswick, 7-4, in a well-played game recently.
Parker Bate pitched four strong innings to earn the win. Repeat hitters for Mt. Ararat were Landon Chase, Conner Vashon, Ryan Staples and Alex Wormwood.
Brunswick was led by Brady Lorforge and Jack Nausbam, each with two hits. Tom Harvey pitched well for Brunswick in the loss.
The Eagles also took down a strong Auburn team, 14-13, in an exciting game recently in Topsham.
Trailing 10-3 in the sixth inning, the Eagles exploded for 11 runs, highlighted by key hits from Shea Farrell and Lucas Holman. Repeat hitters for Mt. Ararat were Brady Merrill, Farrell, Holman, Chase, Bate and Vashon.
Farrell came on in relief in the last inning with the bases loaded and retired all three Auburn he faced.
