RICHMOND
Austin Rei doubled and singled twice as the Portland Sea Dogs topped the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 4-2, on Thursday.
Portland started the scoring in the first inning when Josh Ockimey hit a two-run single.
Starters Mike Shawaryn and Shaun Anderson both pitched gems in a classic pitchers’ duel. Shawaryn (3-5) picked up the win after he struck out seven while allowing five hits over six scoreless innings. Anderson (5-3) went six innings, allowing two runs and six hits.
