MOUNT VERNON — A new ordinance is now on the books that effectively bans sexually oriented entertainment at town businesses licensed to sell alcohol for consumption on the premises.

By a 4-0 vote at a special town meeting Wednesday, residents approved changes to the ordinance that fix typographical errors in the version voters approved at their regular Town Meeting in June.

Only one resident attended Wednesday’s special town meeting; he abstained. The four votes were all cast by town officials.
