BRUNSWICK
College Street is now open for limited public travel from Maine Street to South Campus Drive, according to the Brunswick Department of Public Works.
The road is slated to open fully in approximately two weeks.
College Street is open from South Campus Drive to Coffin Street outside work hours, “ but occasionally during work hours access to Coffin Street is blocked off so through traffic from Maine Street to Coffin Street is not always available during the day,” the department said.
According to the traffic advisory, the final “raisedtable” crosswalk is under construction on College Street just east of Coffin Street, and College Street from Coffin Street to Sills Drive on Route 123 remains closed to traffic all this week and next week.
Construction of the raised table crosswalk is to be completed this week along with sidewalks along College Street east of Coffin Street.
All remaining work is expected to be complete and the opening of all of College Street to take place by Sept. 21— or early the following week if rainy weather causes delays.
