CASCO — A 47-year-old man died Saturday afternoon as the result of a gunshot wound on Rattlesnake Mountain in Casco.
State Police identified the victim as Richard Jacobson of Casco.

The shooting involved a juvenile and may have been accidental. Lt. James Luce declined to release further details of the shooting. He said it was not a self-inflicted gun shot wound and the public is not in danger.

The incident is being investigated by the Maine Wardens Service and state police.

An autopsy will be conducted today.
