WISCASSET — On Monday night, there is a chance to let others do the cooking while supporting the Help Yourself Shelf food pantry, the Feed Our Scholars backpack program, as well as the Bargain Basement which helps outfit those who have suffered catastrophic events for no charge.
The supper will take place from 5:30-7 p.m.
The menu includes baked beans — meatless, meaty, salt pork, Jacob’s cattle, great northern, pea, kidney, red, black and white — hot dogs, casseroles, salads, breads, beverage and dessert. The charge for the meal is by donation.
All funds go to the support of the church and its outreach missions.
To make a reservation — which is not necessary but would help in the planning — or to obtain further information, call (207) 882- 7184. Leave a name and a return phone number for verification.
A supper, set for Aug. 13, will feature St. Philip’s haddock chowder.
Before or after attending the dinner, check out the Bargain Basement which will be open during the supper events.
St. Philip’s is located at 12 Hodge St. in Wiscasset.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
