BRUNSWICK — State Sen. Stan Gerzofsky, DBrunswick, was one of 19 Democrats in the Legislature to receive a “100 percent” rating from the Maine State Employees Union for their support of working families during the 126th Legislature.

The union represents more than 15,000 public and private sector workers throughout Maine.

Gerzofsky, now in his third term, earned the union’s praise for his support of a bipartisan budget crafted by the Legislature, as well as for his vote to prevent a state shutdown by overriding Gov. Paul Le- Page’s veto of that budget.

He also supported efforts to raise the minimum wage, increase access to affordable health care and low-cost prescription drugs, and opposed “right-to-work” bills that could have weakened ’ collective bargaining rights.
