BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick High School freshman boys soccer squad bounced back from a disappointing 3- 1 loss to the Edward Little jayvees on Wednesday by defeating Camden Hills on Thursday by the score of 2-1.
Twenty minutes into the game, the Dragons scored two goals within a minute to take the lead. The first came from Gus Silverman off a Josh Doring assist, and the second by Simon Paledzki ( Isaac Albaugh assist).
Camden rallied to narrow the score before halftime with a Ben Shank goal, assisted by Aiden O’Connell.
The second half featured a more determined effort and physical play by the visitors, but the Brunswick defensive effort, led by Albaugh, Max Rudgers, Albie Putnam, Matthew Poulton, Brandon Ellis and goalkeeper Kyle DeLong was able to deny the Camden attack to preserve the victory.
The win evened Brunswick’s record at 1-1 and the Dragons are scheduled to host Windham on Wednesday at Shulman Field.
