PORTLAND — More Mainers can quickly email photos, download music and surf the Internet now that FairPoint Communications has expanded broadband service to more than 415 homes and businesses in the town of Woolwich. FairPoint high-speed Internet is available for the first time to the eligible customers living in the areas described below.

Since April 2008, FairPoint has invested more than $200 million in its communications infrastructure and technology to bring broadband to northern New England.

“Broadband access opens doors to the world for the residents and businesses in Maine and is fundamental to the state’s future economic growth,” said Mike Reed, FairPoint’s Maine state president.

High-speed connection areas include portions of the following roads/streets in Woolwich: Acadia Shores, Ambrose Drive, Baker Drive, Bailey Bluff Drive, Barley Neck, Bay Drive, Bay Field Drive, Bluff Head Cove, Brookings Bay, Brookside Drive, Brushwood, Burnt Jacket Landing, Carlton Point, Cedar, Chopps Cross, Chopps Point, Coon Run, Drifters Lane, Everett Dow Drive, Ferry, Gallant Way, George Wright, Goose Cove Lane, Hall, Hanson Bay Drive, Hockomock, Hummingbird Drive, Island Drive, Island View, Joseph Mains, Knight Drive, Leav- itt, Ledgewood Drive, Lilly’s Cove Drive, Long Brook Drive, Longley Drive, Main, Middle, Miller, Milt Carlton, Montsweag, Murphys Corner, Norway Drive, Oak Island Drive, Old Arrowsic, Old Stage, Phipps Point, Pleasant Cove, Prospect Lane, Reed, River, Rivers Edge Drive, Route 127, Sasana, Sasanoa, Shagbark Lane, Stoney Creek Drive, Surrey Lane, Swango Drive, Sylvester Lane, Tallman, Temple, The Narrows, Thwings Point, Wagon Wheel Lane, Walnut Point, Webster, Wilder and Woodbridge.
