From the Journal Tribune: “A long-awaited community project came to fruition Thursday afternoon when the Saco River Walk Committee celebrated the groundbreaking of a new 4,500-foot trail at the end of the Hall and Lewis neighborhoods. … The group simultaneously thrust shovels into the ground to commemorate the new trail.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “The members of the hose coupling teams in the Biddeford fire department, are practicing daily for the contests to be held at the Saco Driving park, September 29, in connection with the fair to be given by the Grangers Fair association. The Saco fire depatment will enter two teams and the boys are leaving nothing undone in the line of getting in the best condition for the contest.”
