Limited-edition brew to benefit the bay

HERE’S ANOTHER EXCUSE to have a beer: Allagash Brewing Company is releasing its Vrienden (“friends” in Flemish), a collaboration with New Belgium Brewing in Colorado. Only 1,500 bottles will be sold, with the proceeds going to Friends of Casco Bay.

WHEN: Sales begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday

WHERE: Allagash Brewery, 50 Industrial Way, Portland

HOW MUCH: $10 per bottle, limit two bottles per person

MOFGA invites you  to ‘Grow Your Own’

IF THE WARMING DAYS have you thinking about summer and fresh, local food, check out one of the 30-plus “Grow Your Own Organic Garden” workshops sponsored by the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association. You’ll get a resource packet and some free organic seeds.
