From the Journal Tribune: “An armed robber stole Oxycontin from Rite Aid Pharmacy on Parker Farm Road in Buxton on Wednesday afternoon, only one week after the Biddeford Hannaford was robbed for the same drug. According to the police, a white male entered Rite-Aid at 3 p.m., presented a note asking for Oxycontin and stated that he had a gun. Though he did not display the weapon, the suspect was given an undisclosed amount of drugs and left the store.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Biddeford is plagued with equipment breakdowns in the attempt to clear the city of the weekend storm, Mayor Leo. R. Lemire said today. Two city trucks have broken down during the work, he said. One truck will be used for spare parts for the other, which is being repaired as street department workers keep up the pace of snow removal.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “One of the social events of the early season, an assembly in the form of a dance between Thornton Academy and Biddeford High, occurred Tuesday evening at Moose hall on Main street. The affair began promptly at 9 o’clock with a grand march, the ladies having a Leap Year privilege of asking gentleman to participate.”
