FALMOUTH — A new trade association that promotes the research and development of environmentally safe and sustainable plastics from Maine potatoes and wood chips is holding its annual meeting.
The Sustainable Bioplastics Council of Maine is a consortium of manufacturers, agricultural groups, nonprofit organizations and researchers from the University of Maine. The group is meeting today at Maine Audubon’s Environmental Center in Falmouth.
Organizers say the keynote address will be delivered by Mark Rossi, a national expert on sustainability.
