AUGUSTA (AP) — A judge has raised bail for a Waterville man accused of breaking into a 73-year-old woman’s home and sexually assaulting her at gunpoint.
The Morning Sentinel reports 32-year-old Mark Halle is charged with gross sexual assault, burglary and other offenses in connection with the Feb. 7 break-in. A judge on Wednesday ordered him held on $500,000 cash bail. He was previously held on $225,000.
His attorney had asked that bail be lowered because Halle doesn’t have a criminal record.
