LEBANON — Police caught up with a New Hampshire suspect on Wednesday wanted by authorities in the Granite State on a number of charges ranging from contempt of court in connection with a drug dealing charge to providing false identification.

Maine State Police from Troop A in Alfred and members of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force arrested Dusty Cousens, 40, of Dover, in the parking lot of Home Town Mobil in Lebanon around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said investigators had been looking for Cousens since last week when officers arrested three other New Hampshire residents at a home on Long Swamp Road in Lebanon.

Investigators said she was wanted in New Hampshire on charges of violation of conditions of release for allegedly being a felon in possession of a weapon, contempt of court on an original charge of possession of a scheduled drug, obstruction, and two counts of providing a false ID.

As well, Cousens also had active warrants in Maine for unpaid fines in connection with a trafficking in dangerous knives and theft conviction.

She was taken to the York County Jail in Alfred to await extradition to New Hampshire.

Maine State Police and the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force coordinate numerous fugitive warrant arrest investigations because of the close proximity of the two states. Investigators pointed out that fugitives often flee across state lines in an attempt to avoid arrest and prosecution.
