From the Journal Tribune: “The Army Corps of Engineers met with city officials and State Representatives Wednesday to present two possible plans that could begin to mitigate damage at Camp Ellis within five years. In the past 100 years, more than 30 homes have fallen into the ocean due to severe coastal erosion that Thalken claims have been caused by two man-made sources.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “A 27-year-old truck driver was killed today when a truck slammed into a tree on Route 202 here. State police said Lawrence F. Lemar of Gardiner, apparently fell asleep at the wheel while driving the vehicle.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “The new bowling alleys installed by Quanam Tesca on the second floor at 9 Alfred Street will be thrown open to the public tonight. Manager Tesca issues a cordial invitation to the bowling enthusiasts to attend the opening and enjoy his new alleys.”
